Still trust your wedding planner?

Trusting somebody else to plan your wedding has its own fears. Do it yourself, or with Aven.

The S$26K Wedding Nightmare
A Singapore couple’s dream wedding turned into a stressful nightmare after they discovered their wedding planner, Venice Ballroom (later rebranded as Aurelia Events), failed to pay multiple vendors despite receiving a full payment of S$26,140. Months before the ceremony, essential vendors—including the venue, decorators, and photographers—contacted the bride, \n\nShazwani, revealing they had received no money. To save their wedding, the couple was forced to pay an additional S$16,000 out of pocket, relying heavily on family support and kind-hearted decorators to secure a last-minute ballroom and complete essential arrangements.
The Planner's Defense and Police Investigation
The couple has since filed a police report, and official investigations are currently ongoing as at least three other couples faced similar issues. The current owner of Aurelia Events, Mohamed Hafeez, apologized for the situation but claimed the financial issues stemmed from taking over the business from the previous owner, stating he only received a small balance of the package fees. \n\nMohamed also attributed his sudden unresponsiveness to a June 2026 hospitalization for a lung infection, asserting that he is currently seeking legal advice and cooperating fully with the authorities to resolve the matter.
