You are still the planner
In Singapore, skipping a wedding planner does not mean skipping the work. You still have ROM. You still have a banquet or a lunch. You still have vendors, and you still have relatives with opinions. The difference is that nobody else is holding the plan.
That is fine. Plenty of couples here do it. The part that usually hurts is not the absence of a coordinator. It is that the plan is split: mum on WhatsApp, quotes in email, the guest list in a sheet only one of you can find, the rundown in Notes.

One list both of you can trust
Self-planned weddings in Singapore often die in the gap between “we have a spreadsheet” and “we both know what is true.”
One of you has the Excel. The other is answering aunties. The hotel’s headcount does not match the group chat. A plus-one appears three weeks out and nobody knows which table that is.
You do not need a person standing next to you on the day for that problem. You need one guest list, one budget, one set of tasks with names on them. Same numbers whether you open it at the dining table or in a Grab.

What actually has to live in one place
Moodboards are optional. These are not:
- Every guest, with a status, including dietary notes
- RSVPs copied back into that list the same day they land
- Budget lines that start as a guess and become real quotes
- Who emails the hotel the final headcount, and by when
- A day-of rundown that assumes lifts, rain, and someone running late
If a task has no owner, it lands on whoever is more anxious. Assign it.
